Each summer from May 1st through Labor Day the Homer Chamber of Commerce Jackpot Derby brings the hope of big prizes to fishermen in Homer. The Jackpot prize winner in 2002 won over $48,000. Monthly prizes and tagged fish prizes keep the fishing exciting all summer.

Dan Ozuna from Boise Idaho caught a 228.4lb. monster May 3. Dan said he had a great day, and it was the biggest fish he has ever caught. His arms feel a twinge every time he thinks about it.
