Captain Pete’s Alaska : Are you ready for a true Alaskan adventure?

Salmon

Kissing a fishFishing salmon with Captain Pete is always an adventure! Because of the wide open spaces involved with saltwater trolling, salmon hooked out here can give the angler an unforgettable fight. From the end of halibut season, through the middle of May we’ll concentrate our efforts on the feeder kings in Kachemak Bay.

slim with kings 1When the early run of migrating spawners arrive in late April and early May we’ll start fishing the beach and intercept these larger fish, from mid-June to mid-July you can try your luck on catching a large trophy king salmon as they make their way North toward the Kenai river. From mid-July to way well into September we turn our intention to the acrobatic, tail-walking Silver Salmon and in the Fall and Winter months we always have the very best eating of all the salmon … the Feeder or Winter King.
